Ames Main Street Farmers Market
Find our locally grown farm-fresh flowers on Main Street in Ames Saturday mornings May - October. We have a passion to produce flowers that are local, ethical, and beautiful. With 10+ years of growing under our belts, we know that our Market customers are the foundation of our business and support our mission every week without fail!
Visit us downtown and make your own bouquet or let us make one for you. We pack all our flowers with water so they don’t dry out while you do your Saturday errands. Preordered flowers can also picked up at the market in Ames.
Try a market subscription to get flowers delivered or to pick them up once a month at the market through the summer, it makes a perfect gift!

Come to our farm and enjoy the bumblebees, hummingbirds, and sunshine while making your very own creation, field to vase.

What to bring:
Your favorite clipper (or borrow one of ours)
Your clean bucket to bring flowers home in, or your own vases (or buy vases from us)
We have water available on site.
What to wear:
Wear clothing suitable for a farm. We have wet grass, uneven ground, and sharp clippers.
Sturdy footwear, long pants and a hat for sun and insect protection if you have sensitive skin.
Prices are tiered based on the bouquet size. We accept cash or Venmo for payment. We will often be working in the field alongside you if you have questions.
We were inspired to start our business by a pick-your-own flower farm, and we are excited to have reached the point where we can offer cut-your-own too. We hope your experience in our garden will bless you as it has blessed us!

Naomi Friend
Naomi is the creative design behind Friend’s Flowers. Though she started the business as an artist with a gardening habit, this has morphed to a full time growing and floral design passion as the business grew since 2013. Now she runs the growing and daily task schedule at the farm, and heads up design work with daily flower orders and deliveries, weddings, funerals, and event work.
Andrew Friend
You can’t take the farmer out of the farm boy- and Andrew is here to prove it. Raised on the family flower farm in Washington State (Friend’s Flowers!) farming is his thing and the flowers on our farm are his charges. Though most of his daylight hours are spent working as an engineer through CIRAS at Iowa State, his passion remains everything flower farm. Our son Peter is not far behind him in love of dirt, tractors, and the mechanics!
Madison Royer
Returning for the summer of 2025, we’re thrilled that Madison will be making hand tied bunches and helping our customers at the Saturday Ames Main Street Farmers Market and working on the farm weeding, planting, and watering through the work week! This ambitious girl is going places after she graduates from ISU Horticulture Program in Spring 2026.
Kara Levi
Joining the team for the summer of 2025, Kara is a landscaping and horticulture enthusiast at Iowa State University graduating in 2026. She will be a mainstay at the Saturday Farmers market this season. Her cheerful and outgoing nature is a pleasure to have around the farm during the work week! Say “hi” and let her help you out to brighten your weekly table with flowers.
